On-Site Recycling Planning & Training
Contact the City of Federal Way Recycling for free on-site recycling planning and recycling training for staff, custodians and maintenance personnel. The City can help you select the most economical recycling service options for everything from old computers to scrap pallets. Our goal is to help make your recycling efforts efficient and successful for the long-term.

We also have a limited supply of free interior recycling bins and food-scrap collection containers designed to make recycling even easier. These containers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Free Recycling Carts
Waste Management will provide any Federal Way business with basic recycling services at no cost, even if you use another recycling service. Each individual business (including businesses that share garbage service under a different account name) is allowed up to two 96-gallon "all-in-one" recycling carts at no cost. These recycling carts are serviced once per week. View these Business Recycling Guidelines to see what to recycle in your all-in-one carts.

Recycling Will Save Your Business Money: Recycling Fee Cap
For businesses with larger recycling amounts, Federal Way’s contract with Waste Management requires them to provide combined garbage and recycling service for less than the cost of garbage service alone. When your business add recycling and decrease your garbage service (and keep the same total service volume) you are guaranteed a lower total cost than you were paying for garbage service only.

Other Recycling Options That Fit Your Business
Larger recycling containers and more frequent collection services are available. To see all the items you can recycle at work and companies that provide recycling service, see the Federal Way Business Recycler Listing. Fees for recycling services vary by service provider and by container size, frequency and materials to be recycled (for example, cardboard-only vs. mixed all-in-one recycling).
