Judge Rebecca C. Robertson

   

Judge Robertson has been a judge in Federal Way since January 2010.  She has taught and presented at various Federal Way schools, is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Federal Way, and performs marriages in Federal Way.  Judge Robertson participates in the South King County YMCA High School Mock Trial Competition held at Federal Way Municipal Court every year.

Judge Robertson serves on the District and Municipal Court Judges’ Association Board, the District and Municipal Court Judges’ Association Rules Committee, and is a liaison to the Washington State Bar Association’s Court Rules and Procedures Committee.  She is the past chair of the Washington State Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section.  Judge Robertson has written articles and taught courses on Domestic Violence and DUI issues, and is the past chair of the Washington State Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Institute.

Prior to taking the bench in Federal Way, Judge Robertson was a Judge Pro-Tempore, presiding over criminal and civil cases in Bellevue District Court, Redmond District Court, Issaquah District Court, Kirkland Municipal Court, and Issaquah Municipal Court.

As a prosecuting attorney for the Cities of Kent and Seattle, Judge Robertson handled Domestic Violence, DUI, Assault, Theft, and Stalking cases.  Judge Robertson also handled numerous appeals, including to the Washington State Court of Appeals and the Washington State Supreme Court.

Judge Robertson has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Washington and a law degree from Seattle University School of Law.
