I got a ticket in a school zone. How can I contest it?
Although Public Works is responsible for traffic signals, all school zone enforcement related tickets are handled through the
Municipal Court
. If there is a problem with a camera or signal in a photo-enforced school zone, please contact
Lt. James Nelson
of the Federal Way Police Department at 253.835.6779. Please report malfunctioning non-photo enforced school flashers to Public Works by calling 253.835.2700 or by
reporting the issue online

What can be done about an abandoned vehicle on my street?
Please call the Police Traffic Unit at 253.835.6775 and leave complete information about the abandoned vehicle on the voicemail, including the vehicle make, model, color and license plate information. Traffic unit officers check the messages daily and will investigate all abandoned vehicles.
