The Administrative/Records Support Technician is the first level of a three level Administrative and Records Support series.&amp;nbsp; Incumbents are part of a broad consolidated class encompassing support for functions across City government including activities ranging from general office support to the provision of technical assistance for designated functions and City customers.&amp;nbsp; &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
Based upon assignment and level of experience, incumbents may be responsible for:
&lt;UL&gt;
    &lt;LI&gt;Performing, with varying degrees of supervision, clerical work involving routine office support activities including first line customer service;
    &lt;LI&gt;Performing defined and operational work necessary to fulfill and satisfy customer service requests such as providing needed records, permits and other documents;
    &lt;LI&gt;Providing technical assistance for assigned administrative or records management process acting with general supervision;
    &lt;LI&gt;Providing administrative support for legal activities including the handling of municipal documents; legal research and interpreting, applying and explaining statutes, codes and regulations; risk management support; and functioning as a liaison between victims and the legal system educating victims on court procedures.
    &lt;LI&gt;Providing training and serving as lead worker for assigned administrative support or records management function. &lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Independent work and complexity of duties increases with knowledge and experience.&amp;nbsp; Some incumbents may act as lead worker, making work assignments and determining completion of work, and some may perform full supervisory duties although such supervision is not an essential job function.&amp;nbsp; &lt;BR&gt;

&lt;STRONG&gt;ESSENTIAL DUTIES FOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 1:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR&gt;
Perform a variety of administrative, secretarial, clerical and public relations duties related to the function to which assigned; provide secretarial support or coordinate office clerical activities.&amp;nbsp; Track office projects and maintain related files and records; develop and maintain extensive filing systems; receive, receipt and track fees and payments.&amp;nbsp; Enter data for purchase requisitions as needed; determine and order office supplies and equipment according to established guidelines; assist in the development and assembly of division or department budgets; maintain budget and other financial records and files.&amp;nbsp; Receipt monies, run daily reports, balance cash and prepare daily bank deposit.&amp;nbsp; Answer telephone calls; schedule appointments and meetings; explain programs, policies and procedures within the scope of authority; provide information of general or limited technical nature; take messages and refer callers to appropriate person or department as necessary.&amp;nbsp; Maintain a variety of records and files according to established procedures; create and maintain project files; monitor project progress to assure required steps and documentation are completed; process a variety of forms and reports; maintain payroll records as assigned.&amp;nbsp; Train and provide work direction to others as assigned; assist and back up other secretarial staff as needed.&lt;BR&gt;

&lt;STRONG&gt;OTHER REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:&lt;/STRONG&gt; &lt;BR&gt;
Perform a variety of research and assist supervisor with special projects as assigned; coordinate communications with other departments, agencies and cities as assigned.&amp;nbsp; Transcribe, type and distribute letters, contracts, reports and memoranda including materials of a confidential nature; compose letters requesting or providing information concerning routine matters independently or from oral written instructions; take notes quickly and accurately.&amp;nbsp; Prepare and distribute various committee and task force agenda packets, correspondence and related documents; attend meetings, take notes and prepare minutes.&amp;nbsp; Prepare agendas and attend various boards and meetings to take minutes and distribute as designated; attend meetings and deliver documents at various City locations.&amp;nbsp; Check reports, records and other data for accuracy, completeness and compliance with established standards; compile information and prepare routine reports.&amp;nbsp; Operate office equipment and machines such as personal computers, typewriters, dictating machines, calculator, copy machines and adding machines.&amp;nbsp; Use, demonstrate and train others in proper use of word processing; spreadsheet and other software applications; answer more advanced questions and issues related to correct secretarial and word processing requirements.&amp;nbsp; Receive, sort, open and distribute mail; order and maintain office supplies.&amp;nbsp; Perform related duties as assigned.&lt;BR&gt;

Under the direction of the Building Official the Combination Electrical/ Building Inspector position is responsible for providing combination inspections, technical code based research, and nonstructural electrical, plumbing and mechanical plan review of commercial, multifamily, and single family building construction projects.&amp;nbsp; Enforcing adopted laws and city requirements in order to facilitate compliance with codes, regulations and the approved plans.&amp;nbsp; The ideal candidate will possess documented experience providing plan review and inspections regulating the electrical code; has inspection experience related to the plumbing code; mechanical code; energy code, building and residential codes. All candidates are expected to have a broad understanding of construction methods and practices and a familiarity with the National Electrical Code, International Code Council Building, Residential, and Mechanical Codes; the Washington State Energy Code; and the International Plumbing and Mechanical Officials Plumbing Code.&amp;nbsp; The Combination Electrical and Building Inspector issues corrections reports, authorizes approvals, posts stop work and other notices requiring alterations and/or repair in order to enforce building codes and obtain code compliance.     &lt;LI&gt;Ability to take initiative, make sound decisions, and trouble shoot problematic situations in an independent manner.
    &lt;LI&gt;Valid Washington State driver&amp;rsquo;s license.
    &lt;LI&gt;Current First Aid, Child CPR and Adult CPR cards required.
